PDF to DXF: free online conversion, page limits and scale
Convert PDF page 1, up to 1 MB, to editable DXF outlines online. Understand scanned and vector PDFs, paper millimetres, text outlines and engineering scale.
How to convert a PDF to DXF for free
Upload a PDF up to 1 MB on the home page and confirm your drawing rights and retention terms. Only page 1 is processed; export the desired drawing as a separate page first if necessary. Preview the actual traced result and download DXF when ready. Failed jobs return the allowance.
Scanned PDF versus vector PDF
Scanned PDFs usually store images; vector PDFs may contain paths and text. This tool renders the first PDF page and traces its outlines. It does not losslessly recover the original CAD document, layers, text objects or dimensions, even when the input PDF contains vectors.
Why calibrate output that already uses millimetres?
Output millimetres represent the PDF paper size, not necessarily the real part dimensions. A drawing printed to scale still needs calibration using a trustworthy dimension. Check another dimension, outline completeness and the result in your target CAD software.
File retention and complex drawings
Online source files, results and previews are deleted 30 minutes after task creation. Private review copies are deleted after 48 hours. Encrypted, damaged or overly complex files may fail conversion. For editable text, dimensions or layer cleanup, request a separately quoted refinement assessment.
The free tool accepts PNG, JPG/JPEG and PDF files up to 1 MB, processing PDF page 1 only. Guests get 1 conversion per IP per day; signed-in accounts get 3. Allowances reset at 00:00 China Standard Time (UTC+8); failed jobs return the allowance. Network abuse-prevention limits also apply.
