Can a hand sketch be converted to CAD directly?

Save the sketch as PNG, JPG or PDF and upload it. The free tool tries to fit clear strokes to lines, circles and arcs and to recognize readable text as editable CAD text. Unresolved parts remain as outlines. Sloppy strokes, overlapping lines and shadows can reduce quality, so compare the result with the original.

What matters for pencil or whiteboard drawings?

High contrast and continuous lines work best. Faint pencil grey, whiteboard glare, paper creases and angled photos all reduce usability. Use a flat, straight-on, evenly lit scan or photo up to 1 MB. Colour is not carried into the DXF outline.

Is handwritten text recognized as editable text?

Clear handwritten or printed text can be attempted, but messy handwriting, cursive and short labels are not guaranteed. Recognized numbers are text, not associative dimensions; verify decimal points, minus signs, diameter symbols and tolerances before engineering use.

Is a converted sketch ready for production?

No. Free conversion produces outlines for review and does not restore design intent, dimensional constraints or manufacturing accuracy. For geometry cleanup, editable text, dimensions or layers, request a refinement assessment quoted per drawing.

The free tool accepts PNG, JPG/JPEG and PDF files up to 1 MB, processing one selected PDF page per conversion. Guests get 1 conversion per IP per day; signed-in accounts get 3. Allowances reset at 00:00 China Standard Time (UTC+8); failed jobs return the allowance. Network abuse-prevention limits also apply.

Online source files, results and previews are deleted 30 minutes after task creation. Private review copies are deleted after 48 hours. Download and keep your own copy in time.
